Our Brompton bungalow project involved a full internal renovation and a modest 120m² addition, delivered from concept through to completion. A seamless connection between the original bungalow and the new extension was central to the design. The client had painstakingly salvaged 6,500 historic bricks from a former paved garden, and these were repurposed as external cladding—bringing authenticity, texture, and a tangible link between past and present that couldn’t have been replicated with new materials.
Internally, the layout was tailored to reflect the client’s current lifestyle while allowing room for future adaptability. The restored bungalow’s character-rich features are intentionally contrasted with the clean lines and modern elements of the addition. A mid-century influence is carried throughout, with walnut timber details and green tones anchoring the palette. Polytec Verdelho and Topiary feature in the kitchen, laundry, and study, complemented by Dulux ‘Still’ on the ceilings. In the walk-in-robe and pantry, Polytec Blossom White cabinetry with walnut handles ties into a broader palette that balances warmth, nostalgia, and contemporary functionality.
