The Esplanade
Positioned on the esplanade and spread across three levels, this extensive internal renovation was designed to future-proof a much-loved beachside home. One of the primary challenges was the integration of a lift spanning from the lower ground garage to the first-floor bedrooms and master suite. By repurposing the existing stair void, we achieved this without major excavation or structural changes. A new internal staircase, crafted in timber with frameless glass balustrading, elegantly wraps the level one landing, while VJ cladding around the lift shaft adds subtle texture and enhances the sense of height and openness.

A key brief was to create a home that could host over 30 family members, without losing the sense of calm and intimacy needed by its two main residents. The original open-plan space was reimagined with smooth curves, thoughtful spatial planning, and banquette seating to optimise flow and comfort. The overall atmosphere is shaped by a soft palette of linen curtains in warm greys, marble touches, and refined lighting, paired with furniture that opens the space while maintaining a relaxed coastal elegance. This was the client’s first experience working with a professional design team, and thanks to our detailed planning and seamless collaboration with the build team, the project was both smooth and deeply rewarding from start to finish.
